Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Police state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located many other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the substance was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; investigators are currently not informed of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they added.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for details.
An important representative said the attack left him without words and had to be resolved quickly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the murder of nine individuals by a assailant focusing on residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
